A Birthday Weekend Glad Game!

* Friday [livejournal.com profile] geeksdoitbetter came over and showed [livejournal.com profile] shardkin and I how to make 2-ply yarn using a drop spindle! She then kindly gifted us with some roving! We ordered spindles straight away.

* I was just happy as a clam all weekend! *Such* a good mood!

* Friday my boss let me order my chair since we made an awesome placement!

* Saturday I relaxed and then L. and her two bfs came over before the party. L. made me a beautiful fancy chocolate mousse layer cake that got put on my cake stand, lemon raspberries cupcakes (that looked professional!) and wings like she used to make when she worked at a pizza place. I decided I wanted a super laid back party at home with pizza and chips and wings and cupcakes. I made pomegranante champagne cocktails with pomegranante seeds, we *finally* opened the absinthe, etc. Mom let me borrow some of her records (though the damn record player didn't work ;p). I got to dress all Mad Men like or like a gothic Alice. I had on my new training corset (underneath), my new crow cameo necklace, a satin cami top, a jeweled button cardigan, a poofy crinoline, and a grey taffeta skirt with heavy black velvet at the bottom. I felt amazing! There were Twilight Rifftrax, teasing about a boy auction, tequila o'clock, and just a really good time. It was perfect! I was so happy! I was surrounded by my closest friends!

* Sunday, Mom, Melissa, and I went to Ana Beall's where we had sparkling white jasmine tea served to us like champagne and I had a High Tea that was yummy with delish gumbo, tiny tea sandwiches, tiny cookies, and a scone with more tea. It was really gorgeous and posh in there!

* I got an embarassment of riches in terms of gifts. So much so I'm a little shy about listing them here.

* Sunday night [livejournal.com profile] shardkin made me dinner! Standing rib roast, mushroom demi glace, creamed spinach, pretzel rolls, and sunchokes! It was omg nom!
