* Friday was super exciting with a suprise random visit from a random guy who our landlord sent over to look at the place. No one called or told me, so that was an unneeded heart attack. I've started locking the front door to our building today as I'm the only one working in said building which is super. I called bosslady right away and said, you need to fix this, this isn't happening again, ever. And she did (I knew it was legit from what he said and he paid me another visit today, chastised, landlady in tow).
* My boss continues to try to make me lose my goddamn mind by playing a game we can call, Should I or Shouldn't I Go Out of Business? Let's ask Deb! I don't care which we do at this point, we need to do one. The reality is we have not had a paying client in quite some time, we have not had any potential clients for a significant amount of time. I know there's sentimental attachment to the business, but jerking me around about my job is not cool. There's just no way we can maintain this business without a paying client past December and she needs to accept that and stop making me crazy in return. I like working for her, I like my job, I like my office, I like my pay. But I feel like as Jow put it that I'm sitting here on Corporate Death Row, not sure if I'm going to get a pardon or not. As there are already vultures circling our office-corpse, I wish she would just say, we're closing on x date and I can just start to get on with my life and onto the next plan.
* Bryan's party was good, we had a lot of fun. It's actually the first party Jow and I have arrived together without any SOs and had no OSOs attending said party. We've been dating for three years now. We couldn't stop laughing, it makes me feel like I grew up on a compound or something. A good amount of Alize was drank by me (and others), triumverte time was had, laughing and flirting and telling stories about the old days happened, and I learned to play Texas Hold 'Em.
* Sunday, Jow and I went to Skylark for brunch and they started having a woman wearing white gloves wheel around an elegant little bar cart with all the ingredients and garnishes to make brunch drinks right there to order at your table. I almost peed, I was so excited, it was something straight out of Mad Men. I ordered a bloody mary to go with my french omelet (so good, will need to make one at home) and of course took home some fussy gourmet chocolates (can't wait to eat the peanut butter pumpkin and the port chocolates). We then went to anthropologie and rolled around in there for a while as we're pretty much exactly their target audience. So it was a v. fancy day. :)
* My legwarmers came in. They look super cute. I saw the Jessie Steel apron in anthrologie and I'm glad I didn't get it. It looks sized for a child, it's tiny. It fits, but it's not v. utilitarian. I am ordering the apron I liked on Etsy.
* I am v. v. strongly considering getting an Ashford Kiwi wheel, everyone says it's good for beginners, I saw a woman using it on youtube and it looks doable, it's a really good price. I don't have a lot of spinning places local, there's one I could take a class with but they don't have many wheels. People have said they can spin using it on their couch (important to me). I'm going to see if they can order it and if I can get a free class if they do. I just don't have time to join a guild or something. My wrists are going to get damaged in like about a year I'm guessing if I keep drop spinning only, especially with the writing too which is why the Spare Oom is going to be made into an office, laptops on a lap all the time are no bueno for long term use, it tends to cause back/wrist issues. I'm going to have a full sized keyboard and mouse, for sure.
* Yesterday I took L. wedding dress shopping. Luckily for her after my sister, the bar for what constitutes a successful trip there is looooow. She was sweet enough to take me to outback afterwards.
* Today I'm seeing JohnM in the first time in forever, hooray! And then home for a cooking dinner date with Jow.
* Between work and my sister's impending (this sat) babyshower (she finally deigned to talk to me today about it after running around like crazy trying to get moved into her place. Her: Don't worry, I'll give you a menu in time for everything! Me (flatly): Tomorrow. Tomorrow or we do what I said we're doing. You've had time for this and the buffet I picked is all stuff your OB wants you eating. Her: Can we use x and y random ingredients? Me: No. Her: I won't hate you too much if we play some games. Me (veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery sarcastically): That's mighty white of you. I've got to go.), I was a raving psychotic yesterday. However, thanks to an extra visit with Auntie Xanax every night between now and Sunday, I'm not totally strung out and a lunatic. In fact, I now after a day of dealing with crazy only feel slightly anxious which was my baseline for yesterday.
* I'm getting everything geared up to open my yarn shop (and other things, but yarn for now) v. v. soon. If you would like to pre-emptively friend said shop or have a peek, check out
sirenecorbeau. I got that straight, the places I'm going to advertise, advertising on Ravelry, etc. all set up. I now just have to take pictures of said yarn and label them and name them. That has been soothing.
