Meds and a Tiki Party, Aloha!
May. 20th, 2010 02:43 pmJames: It's ok. You've been sick. And now we know what's wrong and you are getting it taken care of.
me: It's a huge relief honestly.
James: I can imagine so. I know you were worried that this was basically "the way it is"
me: It was a real fear. Until I was like but why am I coughing and having respiratory problems? Fibro doesn't do that. But it was fucking my fibro hardcore.
It can be hard to isolate symptoms.
slight fever = cold?
respitory = allergies?
achy, shitty feeling = fibro?
James: Right. That is true
me: if I had insurance I wouldn't've dawdled so long
James: Unfortunately the only way to differentiate it is time.
cold =/= last more than about a week
allergies =/= doesn't respond real well to antihistamines for longer than a week
and, from what I have noticed, fibro =/= a bad flare up for longer than...a week(usually)
So even though you waited a little longer than was absolutely needed, you did use the best diagnostic method that could be used in the circumstances.
me: yeah, when I finally went to the doctor, i was like: I'm not pregnant, I've taken sudifed, benedryl, dayquil, nyquil, claritin. *bam!* Now what.
***
Only two more days of antibotics. I've never had a "z pack" before. Z-pack is all: Pew! Pew! Pew! and my system is like, whaa? This no est penicillin! This no est penicillin at all! It makes me v. sleepy, but by Sunday, I can has life back? I hope so!
For those of you not on Facebook to see the incriminating pictures, I did somehow manage to throw a pretty killer Tiki Party, with a lot of help from the bfs and L. Leis, devil rubber ducks swimming in a tiny pond, mini beach balls, a ton of food, banana dacquaris, the whole nine. More people than expected came, but since it was pot luck it worked out just fine. L. made a delish boozy cake among other yummy treats brought. I learned to make amaretto cookie tasting shots using her and chris’ lemon infused vodka and ginger infused vodka. Champagne bottles were popped, tequila shots drank, many cigarettes smoked, and a few attempts by party attendees to use Spare Oom’s new day bed for nefarious purposes. And when I got too tired I threw everyone out (or tossed blankets at them to sleep) and spray bottled the stragglers. ;)
