If you're interested in joining the Beta Reader Filter please feel free!

A few points to clarify:

It's okay if smut (or my smut for the matter) is not your "thing", just as long as you're not offended by it, you are still welcome to be a reader.

All joking aside, I am reasonably thick skinned. I did college level creative writing classes (including one that was invitation only, oooooooooh! ;p), so I'm used to people (constructively) being like, this blows. I'd honestly rather hear it from you guys and fix it than just get a form rejection (or worse, radio silence).

I am aware that like every writer, not everything that comes from my nimble little fingers is magic. Sometimes my work will have narrative issues, rushing/not rushing, and ironically, despite being a smut writer, I still sort of struggle a bit with the smut itself. I'm still getting my groove on with that - to be frank, it's easy in the throes of NRE, feeling fabulous, etc., it's not so easy when you're writing like it's your job. I also want to become more "process" driven in that I do several drafts, not like 1.5 and call it done, that's not great writing practice, it's lazy. I got spoiled a little by having some early, frankly easy success and I don't want it to be a habit.

And I am do understand that even if you critique my work, it doesn't mean that you are critquing *me* and telling *me* I'm a bad pony.

So if you're interested in joining us, drop a note!

Please note! I am currently behind in my correspondance due to bday weekend and the weekend before being in Boston. I'm trying to keep all my chainsaws juggling (work, some overtime, writing, sewing, household work, etc.), and as such I've fallen behind on my correspondance. I will be getting back to everyone asap!

1. Spirituality

* Mala'ing every night . . .and that's about it. I need to buy new watch batteries for Yemaya's altar and I need to start doing offerings again and finish the damn shamanism book. But I feel sort of awesome being so faithful about the mala'ing. It's the most consistant I've been with anything and I've been doing it for like a month now without fail.

2. Get in better shape

* Despite bday, I've been doing pretty good overall listening to my body's signals.

* As of yesterday, I've started drinking 8 glasses of water

* I did yoga yesterday!

3. Writing

* Got rejected on my first short story of the year, but thanks to my lovely beta readers, I can see the problems are as I suspected and I know what to fix. And, I'm happy I've already started submitting in the first month of the year!

* Website is up, copy is written by me. After (1) whole (somewhat sleepless) night of having my blog linked there (as compared to having my blog linked from my profile page), I decided to take the link down. I know blogging is now being considered a legit (to many, depending on who you're asking, I say it is) writing artform unto itself now, but . . .I don't know. I don't like it being linked together for me. It's a thing, admittedly. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with all my readers knowing my personal life and the stupid shit I do.

* Working on getting my regency piece ready to roll

4. Crafting

* Learned to spin yarn!

* Bought a drop spindle kit

* Last night started sewing a goddess dolly, yay!

5. Other

* House is starting to look more "finished"

* Started working on radical self acceptance in a serious way

My short romantica piece is Party Girl now officially ready to be read by you for the low price of $1.25!

Armaretto martinis, sashimi, a hot tub, and an anything-goes attitude make for a wildly sexy party. But despite her best efforts, she can't seem to stop missing her lover. Things heat up for our heroine when the lover unexpectedly arrives to find her alone outside under the stars!

Please buy, signal boost, etc so I can make Freya's Bower's top ten!

* Friday [livejournal.com profile] geeksdoitbetter came over and showed [livejournal.com profile] shardkin and I how to make 2-ply yarn using a drop spindle! She then kindly gifted us with some roving! We ordered spindles straight away.

* I was just happy as a clam all weekend! *Such* a good mood!

* Friday my boss let me order my chair since we made an awesome placement!

* Saturday I relaxed and then L. and her two bfs came over before the party. L. made me a beautiful fancy chocolate mousse layer cake that got put on my cake stand, lemon raspberries cupcakes (that looked professional!) and wings like she used to make when she worked at a pizza place. I decided I wanted a super laid back party at home with pizza and chips and wings and cupcakes. I made pomegranante champagne cocktails with pomegranante seeds, we *finally* opened the absinthe, etc. Mom let me borrow some of her records (though the damn record player didn't work ;p). I got to dress all Mad Men like or like a gothic Alice. I had on my new training corset (underneath), my new crow cameo necklace, a satin cami top, a jeweled button cardigan, a poofy crinoline, and a grey taffeta skirt with heavy black velvet at the bottom. I felt amazing! There were Twilight Rifftrax, teasing about a boy auction, tequila o'clock, and just a really good time. It was perfect! I was so happy! I was surrounded by my closest friends!

* Sunday, Mom, Melissa, and I went to Ana Beall's where we had sparkling white jasmine tea served to us like champagne and I had a High Tea that was yummy with delish gumbo, tiny tea sandwiches, tiny cookies, and a scone with more tea. It was really gorgeous and posh in there!

* I got an embarassment of riches in terms of gifts. So much so I'm a little shy about listing them here.

* Sunday night [livejournal.com profile] shardkin made me dinner! Standing rib roast, mushroom demi glace, creamed spinach, pretzel rolls, and sunchokes! It was omg nom!
