Beta Readers Still Wanted!
Jan. 26th, 2010 09:39 amIf you're interested in joining the Beta Reader Filter please feel free!
A few points to clarify:
It's okay if smut (or my smut for the matter) is not your "thing", just as long as you're not offended by it, you are still welcome to be a reader.
All joking aside, I am reasonably thick skinned. I did college level creative writing classes (including one that was invitation only, oooooooooh! ;p), so I'm used to people (constructively) being like, this blows. I'd honestly rather hear it from you guys and fix it than just get a form rejection (or worse, radio silence).
I am aware that like every writer, not everything that comes from my nimble little fingers is magic. Sometimes my work will have narrative issues, rushing/not rushing, and ironically, despite being a smut writer, I still sort of struggle a bit with the smut itself. I'm still getting my groove on with that - to be frank, it's easy in the throes of NRE, feeling fabulous, etc., it's not so easy when you're writing like it's your job. I also want to become more "process" driven in that I do several drafts, not like 1.5 and call it done, that's not great writing practice, it's lazy. I got spoiled a little by having some early, frankly easy success and I don't want it to be a habit.
And I am do understand that even if you critique my work, it doesn't mean that you are critquing *me* and telling *me* I'm a bad pony.
So if you're interested in joining us, drop a note!
