Things I've been doing:

* Lots of endings and lots of beginnings the last few weeks which has been exhausting.

* I'm an aunt! My sister gave birth last night to a beautiful baby boy named Logan Robert. Robert is after my (deceased) father. Irony points: I got my period yesterday and needed to pick up my birthcontrol rx.

* Advertising my big sale for my etsy shop

* At my last day of work today

* Figuring out contingent plans in case I don't get severence. I have reason to believe I will but I don't really believe anything until the check is in my hand.

* Living in Florence + the Machine's album

* Keeping magical workings up on the homefront

* Practicing playing housewife when I get the chance. I call it "playing" because it's my version of idealized housewifery which means my man helps me with the house work that's hard for me to do (dishes, vacuuming), I still make my own money and have my own autonomy and my own bank account but I get to do all the things I like: do my hair and make up, wear something cute (apron included), start dinner, make cocktails, do the cleaning that doesn't kill my fibro and then get praised. Luckily, Jow likes all of this too. It's fun, it feels like playing grown up house. I think that's what being a third wave feminist really means, getting to cherry pick what we really want to do with less baggage.

* Planning my monthish sabbatical where I write, catch up with friends, organize the house, set up my home office and play housewife.

* Contemplating the crafting I need to do for xmas.

* If severence, then after xmas sales at J. Crew outlets and anthropologie.

* Finally fixed the sofa slipcover problem with help from the hip domestic comm. Apparently, all you need to do is put PVC pipe between the cushions and voila! Cover stays in place. Bonus for the new cover.

* Another article of mine has been picked up on WitchVox. I've been getting really nice fanmail for it (I have regular readers there now) and really nice comments on my blog which is steadily gaining readership. It's wonderful and overwhelming to have so many people tell me my writing has moved them or changed their perspective on how they see things or made them feel valuable in their magical practice. It gives me hope that writing is what I'm supposed to be doing.

* Relationships, romantic and otherwise continue to be solid. Things continue to be good in general. Making this leap from punchclock security into a paid writing career is both vomitously frightening and exhilerating. I feel like I keep shedding skin and coming closer and closer to being exactly who I want to be.
